High school football: 2012 All Star Football Game rosters unveiled

The Greater El Paso Football Showcase has announced the rosters for the 21st Annual All Star Game, as selected by the All Star Game committee.

Ninety-two players from the El Paso area were selected to participate on the West and East squads.

Mike Jackson will coach the West. Jackson is a former All Star Game defensive coordinator and coach at Mountain View High School. This is his fourth year as the West coach.

Phil Hatch will coach the East. Hatch is a former high school principal and coach at Jefferson High School and Bowie High School. This is his sixth year as the East coach.

The game is set for Dec. 22 at Sun Bowl Stadium. Kickoff is at 1:05 p.m., with pregame festivities scheduled to begin at 12:35 p.m.

Tickets go on sale Nov. 26 at all area high schools and at First National Bank and its five locations around the city. Tickets are $6.

The game will be preceeded by the 2nd Annual All Star Combine on Dec. 21 at the Socorro Student Activities Complex. College scouts will be in attendance to watch area football players in action.

All proceeds from the game go directly to the seniors in the form of scholarships. In the game's 21 years, 550 El Paso graduating seniors have been awarded $423,500.
