Getting The Most Out Of Paid Online Surveys | Online Success Articles

?

Many people who are looking for a way to make legitimate money online turn to paid online surveys as a way to go about it. Participating in paid surveys can be a good way to generate extra cash or to get free goods in exchange for a few minutes of time. While many people choose to get involved in paid surveys, not everyone makes a lot of money doing it. Here are a few tips to maximize the amount of money that one can make with paid surveys.

Get a Dedicated Email Address

When getting involved in the paid survey business, an individual should get a new email address specifically for this process. When signing up for service, the applicant will have to provide some kind of email address for contact purposes. If that person uses his regular email address, the survey invitations and other emails will really start to add up. By getting a unique email address just for taking surveys, an individual can separate this endeavor from his other communication.

Sign Up For Multiple Companies

After a new email address is set up, the individual can sign up for multiple survey opportunities. There are many different market research companies out there that pay people to take surveys for them. In order to maximize the survey opportunities, the individual should sign up for as many survey companies as possible. For this part of the process, the individual will need to fill out a form and choose a login and password for each company. It is important to keep the login information for each survey company so that the site can be accessed at a later time.

Take Screening Surveys

In the survey industry, marketing companies will send out a screening survey on the front end before an actual survey is sent out. With these screening surveys, individuals have to answer a few questions about their personal situation before they can be included in the survey. Marketing companies are looking for specific demographics for each new product that they are going to be marketing. Because of this, the survey recipients have to fit into this mold before they are asked to participate in the survey. If a participant wants to maximize the opportunities that he has to take surveys, he should take every screening survey that comes along. It is important to answer the questions truthfully and provide real information to the marketing company.

Getting Paid

In exchange for the time that it takes to complete a survey, the marketing company will pay the participant a one-time fee. In order to speed up the process of getting paid, the participant should choose a payment method like PayPal, which allows for quicker payments. In some cases, the survey participant will have to request a payment once his account balance gets up to a certain level. This means that unless he asks for payment, he will not receive it in a timely manner.

Considerations

In the beginning stages, a survey taker may not be able to make that much money because it does take some time to complete each question. However, after taking several surveys, the individual may be able to speed up the processing time on each survey. This can lead to increased earnings and help compensate the participant better overall.

Russian rescuers dry clothes on their tents near the site where a Sukhoi Superjet-100 crashed, on the peak of Mount Salak, West Java, Indonesia, Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Joint teams of Indonesian and Russian experts continued to comb through debris at the bottom of a 1,500-foot (500-meter) ravine on Tuesday afternoon to find the black box of the new passenger jet with 45 people on board that slammed into a cliff atop the dormant Indonesian volcano last week. (AP Photo/Jefri Tarigan)

(AP) ? Investigators on Wednesday were analyzing the cockpit voice recorder from a Russian passenger jet that slammed into the side of an Indonesian volcano. They hope the final words of the two pilots will help explain what caused last week's crash, which killed all 45 people on board.

The "black box," found Tuesday at the bottom of a 500-meter (1,640-foot) ravine, was shattered and badly burned, said Tatang Kurniadi, who heads the National Commission on Safety Transportation, adding that the memory module appears to still be readable.

It could take up to a week to download the audio, said Mardjono Siswosuwarno, the chief investigator, and it will then have to be translated and transcribed.

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 ? Russia's first passenger jet model since the fall of the Soviet Union two decades ago ? was being demonstrated for potential buyers when it roared into Mount Salak at 800 kph (480 mph) and exploded on April 9.

Debris from the twin-engine jet rained down the near-vertical flank of the long-dormant volcano. It took days for search teams to find the black box partly because it was so badly charred and hidden in heavy brush, said Gagah Prakoso, a spokesman for the Search and Rescue agency.

He said the flight data recorder, which keeps track of instructions sent to any electronic systems on the aircraft, was still missing.

The Superjet ? intended to help resurrect Russia's aerospace industry ? was on its fourth stop of a "Welcome Asia!" tour that was plagued pretty much from the get-go.

After a successful demo flight in Kazakhstan, the tour moved to Pakistan, where potential buyers were forced to look at the jet on the runway. One media report said it didn't take to the sky because of a technical glitch, but that could not be confirmed.

Then on the way to Myanmar, it was discovered that a "nozzle in the engine" was leaking, Alexander Tulyakov, vice president of United Aircraft Corporation, the main stockholder of Sukhoi, told the LifeNews.ru news website.

It got permission from the engine maker to return to Moscow.

A replacement jet ? the one that crashed into the volcano ? was then sent to the region to continue the ill-fated tour.

Beijing skyscraper

In Beijing, five years is more like two decades. The last time I was in the Chinese capital was before the 2008 Olympics, when the city was just entering a building frenzy and gaining prominence on the world stage. When my husband announced that he had gotten a job in Beijing, I knew to expect a transformed city?China, after all, has emerged as an economic powerhouse. But the pace of change is still breathtaking.

For starters, I don?t recognize anything. Granted, I haven?t had a chance to visit the historic monuments like Tiananmen Square and the Temple of Heaven. (Expats? dirty secret: you save the sights for when visitors are in town.) But I thought I'd at least recognize old haunts that survived the construction boom. One night, I confidently told my husband I knew the exact location of Nali Patio, a complex in the Sanlitun neighborhood that?s home to trendy restaurants and bars, where we were meeting friends. What I hadn?t reckoned on was that everything around Nali Patio had been demolished, with a shiny shopping development and dozens of bars in their stead.

Beijing chef

Other changes are less tangible. ?No one comes to Beijing for the weather,? says a friend who?s lived here for six years. But they are coming here?expats of all stripes?to pursue their dreams in one of the world?s most dynamic cities. Take Prague in the 1990?s after the Berlin Wall fell and multiply that 100 times. And along with the artists, intellectuals, and wanna-bes, throw in fast-thinking entrepreneurs, older couples looking for one last adventure before retirement, business school graduates, itinerant chefs, budding designers?anyone with an idea and a curious nature. Beijing is no longer the provenance of diplomats, journalists, and Sinologists. It?s not New York?at least, not yet.

Meanwhile, Beijingers?once stereotyped as being more traditional, more hidebound than their worldly counterparts in Shanghai?have become more cosmopolitan. Taxi drivers aren?t fazed by my husband?s halting Mandarin?all the laowai, or foreigners, here speak a smattering of the lingo. Sleek pedigree dogs?some with their paws shod in designer shoes?scamper around the courtyard of our apartment complex, chased after by Chinese children who speak perfect, American-accented English. At the glitzy Shinkong Place mall next door, young women dressed head-to-toe in Chanel quiz the baristas at Costa Coffee on the flavored syrups they can add to their lattes?skinny, no foam please.

Beijing fish

Still, unless you're in the top five percent, modern Beijing is not an easy place to live in, even when you?re a sheltered expat. Reams of paperwork are involved in everything from getting a mobile phone to renting an apartment. A Chinese friend once commented that things are always farther than they seem in the capital. That is, you might think your destination is only a 15-minute walk, but next thing you know you?re dodging electric bikes, rickshaws, buses, and BMW?s with tinted windows barreling along a multi-lane road. Beijing, the former imperial capital, is built on a scale meant to impress?actually, to cow.

There are other ways of getting around, but they come with a caveat. The subways are so packed at rush hour that women with yellow gloves come around the cars to shove passengers in. Buses are plentiful and cheap but they require patience given Beijing?s sometimes daunting traffic. And then there?s the Mysterious Great Beijing Taxi Shortage?there are about 66,000 cabs in this city of 20 million. They?re cheap, which means not only are they in demand, but drivers are becoming increasingly disgruntled and picky about where they go. (Here?s an Economist piece on the taxi dilemma.) A taxi on a rainy Friday night? Forget about it. The best way to travel by far is to have a set of your own wheels?that is, just two. Though a city of cyclists is turning into a city of car owners, bike lanes are plentiful. Just beware of the smog. (The U.S. Embassy once called the air quality ?crazy bad.?)

Of course, I recognize that Beijing?s challenges are thrown into sharp relief by our nine years in Bangkok, which, despite seeming like yet another sprawling, chaotic, polluted Asian city, is one of the nicest places for an expat. Politeness is important to Thais, as is patience. And while old-school Beijingers are some of the loveliest people you?ll meet, you need sharp elbows in this town. We live next to the worst intersection, and we?ve discovered Chinese drivers love their horns. From about 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., drivers are trying to blare their way out of traffic. We aren?t talking about a demure honk or two, but leaning-on-your-horn-for-two-minutes action. The fancier the car, the worst the offender. My husband and I joke that someone could have a heart attack at the wheel of their car, slump against the horn, and no one would know that something was amiss. When the shouting starts, that?s when we know things have turned really ugly on the streets below.

Impatient drivers aside, there?s a lot to love about our new home. Last night, we sat in outside a friend?s caf?, which occupies a century-old siheyuan, or courtyard house, in an ancient hutong. The moon was out, and all around us were the low-slung tiled roofs of other siheyuan. A cat curled up next to us and we could hear the voices of locals out for their evening walk drift by. For that moment, there was no other city we could be in but Beijing.

Stradivarius cello broken in accident in Spain

(AP) ? A Stradivarius cello housed at the Spanish Royal Palace was broken in an accident, an official said Monday. The instrument could be worth more than $20 million.

A National Heritage official declined to specify what went wrong. She refused to comment on an El Mundo newspaper report that the instrument fell off a table during a photo session. She confirmed it happened about three weeks ago. The official spoke on condition of anonymity in line with department policy.

The damage sustained: a piece that joins the neck of the 17th-century instrument to the body of it broke and fell off the rest of the cello. That piece was not original but rather a replacement installed in the 19th century.

The official said the cello can and will be repaired.

The heritage official declined to say how much the cello was worth. She said it was part of a set of instruments ? two violins and a viola were the others ? that were known as "the Quartet." They got this name because they were commissioned at the same time.

However, Tim Ingles, head of the musical instrument department at Sotheby's auction house in London, said he believed the Spanish cello was worth $20 million (?15.4 million) or more.
